In a speech entitled “How Alva Belmont Refashioned the Women’s Suffrage Movement,” Johanna Neuman will talk about the indomitable women who changed the history of the Votes for Women campaign, chronicled in her new book, Gilded Suffragists: The New York Socialites Who Fought for Women’s Right to Vote. The event will take place at Rosecliff, the Stanford White-built mansion owned by Theresa “Tessie” Fair Oelrichs, followed by a wine and cheese reception and an opportunity to purchase books for signature by the author.
